This page provides role-specific hints to Onboarding users to maximize their use of the application. Click one of the tips below to display helpful information.
Task owners (and onboarding managers who own tasks) have a number of features at their disposal when working on the Tasks tab. First, owners can remove and reorder the columns in the task list, removing the need to scroll horizontally. For more information, see Manage Table Settings.
Next, task owners can sort their task list by any column by clicking the column name. Clicking the name again changes the sort order.
Finally, columns are also resizable; simply place your cursor between the columns, then click and drag the resizing cursor accordingly. The resized columns remain the new size on subsequent visits to Onboarding.
If you have a long list of items in a drop down list, you do not need to scroll through the entire list to locate the desired value. After expanding the list, you can type the first letter of the desired value to move to the values starting with that letter.
For example, if you want to select North Carolina in the State field, click the drop down for State. Next, type the letter N. Continue typing letters until you reach the desired value.
Task owners can reassign tasks currently assigned to them. Starting from either the My Tasks or the Task Activities sections of the My PeopleFluent tab, click any link to see your assigned tasks. Once on the Tasks tab, task owners can select check boxes for one or more tasks, then click the Change Task Owner button to reassign the task. To send the task back to the previous owner, reject the task. For more information, see Reject a Task.
The Engagements tab includes a lot of information. With all columns showing, it is likely that onboarding managers will need to scroll horizontally to see all the data. Scrolling across also displays the vertical scroll bar. To avoid horizontal scrolling, users can remove columns they do not need. For more information, see Manage Table Settings.
While onboarding managers can create custom search filters on the Engagements tab, the quickest method of locating a specific engagement is to use the Find Engagements search feature located on the left side of the Onboarding screen. After selecting the Using Field, enter a value in the Containing field. The Containing field supports partial searches.
For example, if the Using Field is New Hire and you enter "John" in the Containing field, engagements in the results will include those new hires with the first name John as well as those with the last name Johnson, Johnston, and so on.
